IBFT - 4th season

4 International Backyard Football Tournament 9-14 September 2012, Moscow, Russia

Who’s passionate about football as no other? Children, of course.

That’s why Sport Express, Russia’s leading sports media brand, apart from its basic business, annually supports and creates different children social and sports projects, aimed at popularization of mass sports. Sport Express organizes children’s International Backyard Football Tournament (IBFT), a competition which caused wide response in Russian and global sports communities.

Despite its young age, IBFT holds an unofficial status of amateur children’s backyard football world championship!

In 2009, in 1st IBFT, teams from 6 countries as well as children from Moscow orphanages and correctional schools took part.

In the 2nd IBFT, which took place in September 2010, children from 16 countries took part which is three times bigger than before! Among participants were Italy, Poland, Kazakhstan, Finland, Ukraine, Israel, Georgia, South Ossetia, Cote D’Ivoire …

In 2011, 3rd IBFT took place in Krasnodar in the All-Russia children's center “Orlyonok” (during the period carrying out of the First Presidential sport games) from September, 21 till September, 26th, 2011 and represent teams from 20 countries. We look forward to further increasing the number of participating teams in the years to come.

IBFT is supported by President of Russian Federation, Russian Government, Ministry for sports, tourism and youth policy, Russian Football Union and approved by FIFA and UEFA.

It has become a good tradition to organize, in frame of the tournament, a friendly game between Russian Government team “Rosich” and Embassies’ team. We sincerely hope that when grown ups from different countries play football it can have a positive effect on global diplomatic relations.

We invite a team from your country to participate in our tournament ! Let the kids talk the universal language of football!

Those who play in IBFT are not pro footballers, they are future economists and engineers, doctors and teachers. From the very start of their lives we try to inoculate them with the spirit of freedom, health and sport. Many football world stars started from backyard football, and, who knows, maybe some of the IBFT participants could follow in their footsteps.

The main aim of our tournament is to unite children from different countries. IBFT promotes mass football and tries to build strong sports and friendly connections between young people from all over the world.

Children of the world choose sport!
Sincerely,
4th IBFT Organizing Committee
